Coliving startup Tribe Stays has secured a substantial seed investment of $2.8 million, led by Artha Venture Fund and Riverwalk Holdings. This funding round also attracted participation from Kunal Khanna, the founder and CEO of Vivaldis, and several family offices. With this capital, Tribe Stays aims to expand its managed accommodation offerings, comprising three distinct sub-brands: Tribe Student Accommodation, Tribe Commune, and Tribe Suites. The startup’s vision is to cater to a wide range of guests, from students seeking long-term hostels to professionals in need of executive apartments. Tribe Stays currently operates with 650 beds in Pune and plans to significantly increase this number by adding 1,000 more beds in the current fiscal year. The startup’s primary goal is to address the unmet demand for quality student and young professional accommodation in India, a market projected to reach a value of $2.3 billion by 2030. This funding round comes at a pivotal moment, as the coliving and hostel sector in India experiences a post-pandemic resurgence, with investors actively seeking opportunities in this growing market. Tribe Stays joins a list of successful startups in the managed coliving and hostel space, including HooLiv and Colive, which have recently raised substantial funds to expand their operations.
